Indexing to the IGPM raises Elektro's tariffs, which will have an average readjustment of 11.49%

Consumers at the electricity distributor Elektro will have an average increase of 11.49% in their energy bills as of August 27th. The highest percentage was verified for consumers served in low voltage, being 12.89%, and for residential B1, 12.17%, reaching R$ 622.58/MWh. Already consumers served in high voltage, the effect will be 8.84%.

According to a decision by the board of the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) on Tuesday, August 24, the average readjustment in the two-digit range is justified by the indexation of the distributor's contract to the General Market Price Index (IGPM), a of the 17 that are still related to the indicator in the country, most of these contracts are located in the North and Northeast.

Among the items that make up the financial components, the agency's tariff mitigation measures had a negative effect of 6.90%, resulting in a component of 1.73%. Among the measures, the return of PIS/Confis credits stands out, at -3.52%.

As for the levied on portion A, the cost of energy purchase increased by 1.45%, impacted by the exchange rate, since the energy from Itaipu is valued in dollars, and 3.52% of hydrological risk.
